Chinese Hamburg combines savory ground beef with vegetables in a flavorful sauce, served over rice, perfect for a quick, hearty, and satisfying meal with Asian-inspired flavors.

Ingredients

  • 2 onions, chopped
  • 1 green pepper, chopped
  • 4 stalks celery
  • 2 Tbsp. margarine
  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 can mixed Chinese vegetables, drained
  • soy sauce
  • parslied garlic salt
  • 2 1/2 to 3 cups cooked rice
  • 1 can water chestnuts (optional)
  • 1 can sliced mushrooms (optional)

Instructions

  1. Saute chopped onions, celery, and green pepper until tender.
  2. Add ground beef and cook until browned, draining off excess fat.
  3. Stir in undiluted cream of mushroom soup, drained Chinese vegetables, and optional water chestnuts and sliced mushrooms.
  4. Sprinkle with soy sauce and garlic salt; mix well.
  5. Heat thoroughly, thinning with a little water or sherry if needed.
  6. Serve over cooked rice.
