Ingredients

  • 2 Tbsp chopped onions
  • 1 Tbsp butter
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp flour
  • 1/4 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • dash garlic powder
  • dash salt
  • 1 (7 oz) can minced clams
  • 12 slices bread

Instructions

  1. Saute chopped onions in butter for 2 to 3 minutes; remove from heat.
  2. Blend in flour, Worcestershire sauce, and garlic powder, then stir in the minced clams and clam liquid.
  3. Cook over low heat until mixture thickens, about 1 minute.
  4. Cool the mixture and spread it on flattened bread slices, then roll up.
  5. Freeze the rolled-up clam spreads on cookie sheets and store in freezer paper or plastic bags.
  6. When ready to serve, roll the rolls in melted butter and place on cookie sheets.
  7. Bake in a 425°F oven until toasted.
