Ingredients

  • 3 Tbsp. vegetable oil
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 1 c. mixed dried fruit, chopped
  • 2/3 c. mixed nuts, chopped
  • 1/3 c. sesame seed
  • 1/3 tsp. ground cloves
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. raw brown rice, cooked
  • 4 Tbsp. butter or margarine, melted

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. Heat the vegetable oil in a skillet and sauté the chopped onion, mixed dried fruit, chopped nuts, and sesame seed until the onion is translucent, about 5 minutes.
  3. Add ground cloves and salt to the onion mixture and stir.
  4. Add the cooked brown rice and mix well.
  5. Place the rice mixture in a buttered casserole dish and pour melted butter over all.
  6. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes to heat through.
  7. Serve immediately.
