Ingredients

  • 1 quart chicken broth
  • 3/4 stick margarine
  • self rising cornmeal
  • 1/2 cup chopped onions
  • 1/2 cup chopped celery
  • 3 or 4 slices bread crumbs
  • 6 or 7 beaten eggs
  • salt
  • pepper
  • sage
  • poultry seasoning

Instructions

  1. Bring the chicken broth and margarine to a boil in a large tall pan.
  2. Add enough self-rising cornmeal to reach the consistency of cornbread batter.
  3. Remove from heat.
  4. Stir in chopped onions, chopped celery, bread crumbs, and beaten eggs.
  5. Mix well until combined.
  6. Add salt, pepper, sage, and poultry seasoning to taste.
  7. Pour into a baking dish and bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 1 hour.
