Ingredients

  • 2 lb. hamburger
  • 2 (16 oz.) cans pork and beans
  • 2 Tbsp. margarine
  • 1 tsp. sugar
  • 1 tsp. mustard
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 1/8 tsp. salt
  • 1/8 tsp. pepper
  • 12 oz. Cheddar cheese
  • lettuce
  • tomato
  • sour cream
  • taco sauce

Instructions

  1. Brown the hamburger in a skillet; drain excess fat.
  2. Add pork and beans, margarine, sugar, mustard, ketchup, salt, and pepper to the cooked hamburger.
  3. Simmer the mixture for 20 minutes.
  4. Pour the hot mixture over toasted bread.
  5. Top with shredded Cheddar cheese, diced tomatoes, and shredded lettuce.
  6. Optional: Add sour cream and taco sauce on top before serving.
