Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup butter or margarine
  • 1 1/2 cups firmly packed brown sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1 (1 lb.) can whole-berry cranberry sauce
  • 2/3 cup chopped walnuts

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, beat the butter and brown sugar together until creamy; beat in the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  2. Stir together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda, ground cinnamon, and ground cloves; add to the creamed mixture and stir until well blended.
  3. Mix in the cranberry sauce, chopped walnuts, and golden raisins.
  4. Spoon the batter into 2 greased and flour-dusted 9 x 5-inch loaf pans.
  5. Bake in a 350°F oven for 1 hour or until a wooden pick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  6. Cool the bread in the pans for 10 minutes, then turn out onto a wire rack to cool completely.
