Ingredients

  • 1 pkg. dry yeast
  • 1/4 c. warm water
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. liquid shortening
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 c. hot water
  • 4 c. unsifted flour
  • 2 tsp. salt

Instructions

  1. Stir the dry yeast into warm water and let it set overnight, covered.
  2. Divide the dough into thirds and roll out each portion as pie dough.
  3. Cut each rolled-out portion into 8 equal parts using a pizza cutter.
  4. Let the cut dough rise again for 6 to 8 hours.
  5. Bake the rolls at 375°F (190°C) for 10 to 12 minutes until golden brown.
