Ingredients

  • 1/2 lb. ground beef
  • 1/2 lb. sausage
  • 1/4 cup chopped onion
  • 1/2 teaspoon oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon basil
  • 2 tablespoons parsley
  • 1 (6 oz.) can tomato paste
  • garlic to taste
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup cottage cheese
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cans refrigerator crescent rolls
  • 1 package sliced Mozzarella cheese
  • milk

Instructions

  1. Brown ground beef and sausage, stirring until crumbly.
  2. Add chopped onion, oregano, basil, tomato paste, and garlic; cook for 10 to 15 minutes and then cool.
  3. In a bowl, combine egg, cottage cheese, and Parmesan cheese; mix well.
  4. Press crescent rolls into two 3 x 10-inch rectangles on a baking sheet.
  5. Layer ground beef mixture, cheese mixture, and sliced Mozzarella cheese on each rectangle.
  6. Roll each rectangle to enclose the filling.
  7. Place the rolls on the baking sheet.
  8. Brush the tops with milk.
  9. Sprinkle with sesame seeds (optional).
  10. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 20 minutes.
