- Let stand for 5 minutes until frothy.

- Knead the dough for 5 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Let the dough rest for 5 minutes.
- Roll the dough into a 14 x 9-inch rectangle.
- Cut the rectangle into 24 strips.
- Twist each strip into an 8-inch rope.
- Place the breadsticks 1 inch apart on greased baking sheets.
- Cover and let rise until doubled in size, about 20 minutes.
