Cheesy date cheese balls offer a delightful combination of sharp cheese, sweet dates, and a hint of cayenne spice, perfect as an appetizer or party treat.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 2 cups sharp cheese, grated
  • 2 to 3 dashes cayenne pepper
  • 24 dates, halved

Instructions

  1. Mix flour and baking powder together.
  2. Have butter and grated cheese at room temperature and combine with the dry ingredients.
  3. Form dough around each date half, enclosing the filling.
  4. Place the formed balls on a baking sheet and bake at 400°F (200°C) for 15 to 20 minutes.
  5. Serve warm or at room temperature.
