- Combine water, chopped dates, chopped prunes, and raisins in a pot. Boil for 10 minutes or until water is absorbed. Add margarine and let cool.
- In a separate bowl, mix eggs and vanilla, then add to the cooled fruit mixture.
- Add flour, soda, Equal sweetener, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt to the mixture. Mix well.
- Spread the batter in a greased pan and sprinkle with chopped nuts if desired.
- Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 35 minutes or until done.
