  • 1/2 can cream of chicken soup
  • small jar sliced mushrooms
  • 1/2 can water
  • 1 (5 oz.) pkg. egg noodles

Instructions

  1. Brown chopped onion in fat in a skillet.
  2. Add hamburger meat and cook until browned.
  3. Add cream of mushroom soup and cream of chicken soup; stir well.
  4. Add water and sliced mushrooms to the mixture.
  5. Cook egg noodles separately until tender.

Tips & Substitutions

For added flavor, consider sautéing garlic with the onion or adding some Worcestershire sauce to the beef mixture. You can substitute ground turkey or chicken for the hamburger meat if desired. If you prefer a creamier texture, use a full can of cream of mushroom soup instead of half. Fresh mushrooms can be used in place of the jarred ones for a more robust taste.

Serving Suggestions

This hearty casserole is perfect as a main dish and pairs wonderfully with a side salad or steamed vegetables for a complete meal. For a comforting twist, serve it alongside garlic bread or biscuits. You might also enjoy it with a side of roasted potatoes or a fresh green bean almondine to balance the flavors. It's a great option for a family dinner or potluck gathering.

Storage & Reheating

Leftover Deadman’s Casserole can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days.
