Deep Fried Wonton

Ingredients

  • 1 pkg. wonton skin
  • 1/4 lb. ground beef
  • 1/4 lb. ground pork
  • 2 Tbsp. shoyu
  • 1 Tbsp. sherry wine
  • 1 Tbsp. sesame oil
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. minced fresh ginger
  • 3 Tbsp. chopped chives or green onion
  • 1 egg, beaten and diluted with little water

Instructions

  1. Combine ground beef, ground pork, shoyu, sherry wine, sesame oil, salt, minced ginger, and chopped chives in a frying pan and sauté over medium heat until the meat is cooked.
  2. Place about a half teaspoon of the meat mixture in the center of a wonton skin.
  3. Fold the wonton skin in half to make a rectangle.
  4. Fold in half again, lengthwise.
  5. Bring the ends of the narrow rectangle together and press the corners of the first fold together, sealing with a dab of diluted egg.
  6. Deep fry the wontons until golden brown.
