Ingredients

  • 1 cup raisins
  • 1 cup dates
  • 1 cup prunes
  • 2 sticks lite oleomargarine
  • 4 eggs or egg substitute
  • 2 cups water
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 cup nuts (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg

Instructions

  1. Add water and oleomargarine to a pot and bring to a boil.
  2. Chop prunes, raisins, and dates; add them to the boiling water mixture and set aside to cool.
  3. Once cooled, add eggs or egg substitute, vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt, and flour; mix well.
  4. Optional: fold in nuts.
  5. Pour the mixture into a greased baking pan.
  6. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 30 minutes.
  7. Sprinkle with Equal sweetener before serving.
