Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup dates
  • 1/2 cup prunes
  • 1/2 cup raisins
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 stick oleo (butter)
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts

Instructions

  1. Boil together dates, prunes, raisins, and water until soft.
  2. Add oleo (butter) to the fruit mixture and mix well.
  3. In a separate bowl, beat eggs and then add soda, salt, flour, vanilla, and chopped nuts.
  4. Combine the egg mixture with the fruit mixture and mix thoroughly.
  5. Pour the batter into a greased 9 x 11-inch pan.
  6. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 25 minutes until golden brown and cooked through.
