- Boil together dates, prunes, raisins, and water until soft.
- Add oleo (butter) to the fruit mixture and mix well.
- In a separate bowl, beat eggs and then add soda, salt, flour, vanilla, and chopped nuts.
- Combine the egg mixture with the fruit mixture and mix thoroughly.
- Pour the batter into a greased 9 x 11-inch pan.
- Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 25 minutes until golden brown and cooked through.
