Ingredients

  • 2 to 3 lb. beef stew
  • soy sauce
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1/2 green pepper, chopped
  • 2 celery stalks, sliced
  • 3 to 5 potatoes, cut in chunks
  • 3 or more large carrots, cut in pieces
  • 1/2 or more cabbage head, cut in wedges

Instructions

  1. Spray the bottom of a large Dutch oven with Pam.
  2. Brown the stew beef, stirring until browned on all sides.
  3. Pour soy sauce over the beef to taste. Cover with water and cook, covered, until tender. Add chopped onion, green pepper, and sliced celery.
  4. Add potatoes and carrots, pushing them down into the water if possible.
  5. Lay cabbage wedges on top of the stew.
  6. Cover and cook until the vegetables are tender.
  7. Serve hot.
