Soft, fluffy dinner rolls with a slightly sweet flavor, perfect for family meals or special occasions, easily customizable with sweet or savory toppings.

Ingredients

  • 6 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1/4 cup margarine
  • 3 packages dry yeast
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 cups warm water

Instructions

  1. Dissolve the yeast in warm water.
  2. Add sugar, salt, egg, and margarine to the yeast mixture and beat together.
  3. Add half of the flour and beat well.
  4. Knead in the remaining flour to form a smooth dough.
  5. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour.
  6. Form the dough into rolls or desired shapes and let rise again.
  7. Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 15 to 20 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Remove from oven, turn out on the counter, and brush with melted butter.
  9. Optional: Frost sweet rolls with confectioners' sugar frosting.
