- Dissolve the yeast in warm water.
- Add sugar, salt, egg, and margarine to the yeast mixture and beat together.
- Add half of the flour and beat well.
- Knead in the remaining flour to form a smooth dough.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour.
- Form the dough into rolls or desired shapes and let rise again.
- Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 15 to 20 minutes until golden brown.
- Remove from oven, turn out on the counter, and brush with melted butter.
- Optional: Frost sweet rolls with confectioners' sugar frosting.
