Ingredients

  • 1 to 1 1/2 lb. boneless beef cubes
  • 2 c. hot water
  • 1 tsp. lemon juice
  • 1 to 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • 1 or 2 bay leaves
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • pinch of allspice
  • 1 tsp. sugar
  • 2 tsp. Kitchen Bouquet
  • 2 to 3 carrots, sliced
  • 3 to 4 potatoes
  • 1/2 box frozen peas
  • 4 Tbsp. flour

Instructions

  1. Place the beef cubes, hot water, lemon juice, garlic, onion, bay leaves, salt, pepper, allspice, sugar, and Kitchen Bouquet in a covered microwave-safe dish.
  2. Microwave at High for 10 minutes, then Medium-high for 10 minutes, and finally Low for 30 minutes.
  3. Stir the mixture.
  4. Add more water if necessary and microwave until the beef is tender.
  5. Add the sliced carrots and potatoes.
  6. Microwave at High until the vegetables are tender.
  7. Gradually sprinkle the flour over the stew while stirring.
  8. Cook in the microwave until thickened, stirring once.
