Ingredients

  • 1 large jar spaghetti sauce
  • 1 small can tomato paste
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 small can sliced fresh mushrooms
  • 1 large onion
  • 1 bell pepper
  • 1 pound Italian sausage
  • 1 pound ground beef or turkey
  • garlic powder
  • oregano
  • black pepper
  • salt

Instructions

  1. In large pot, heat the spaghetti sauce.
  2. In a skillet, brown the ground beef or turkey and Italian sausage with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
  3. Drain the cooked meat and add it to the sauce.
  4. In the same skillet, sauté sliced fresh mushrooms, chopped onion, and chopped bell pepper in olive oil.
  5. Stir in ripe olives and sprinkle with oregano, then add to the sauce.
  6. Stir in the can of tomato paste.
  7. Cook the sauce on low heat until hot throughout, or let simmer for more flavor.
  8. Cook spaghetti in boiling salted water with 1 teaspoon of oil to prevent sticking.
  9. Drain the spaghetti.
  10. Serve the sauce ladled over the cooked spaghetti.
