Ingredients

  • 16 slices bread with crust cut off
  • 8 slices ham or ground ham
  • 8 slices American cheese
  • 8 eggs
  • 1 cup chopped onions
  • 1 cup chopped green peppers
  • 8 cups milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 dash pepper
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
  • 2 cups crushed potato chips
  • 1/4 pound melted butter

Instructions

  1. Line a 9 x 13-inch greased pan with 8 slices of bread, crust cut off.
  2. Layer ham, cheese, chopped onions, green peppers, and the remaining 8 slices of bread on top.
  3. In a bowl, whip together eggs, salt, pepper, dry mustard, Worcestershire sauce, and milk.
  4. Pour the egg mixture evenly over the assembled sandwiches in the pan.
  5. Cover and let stand in the refrigerator overnight.
  6. Bake at 350°F for 1 hour.
  7. Top with crushed potato chips and drizzle melted butter over the casserole before serving.
