Fiery Chicken features tender chicken breasts simmered in a creamy, spicy sauce with green chilies and paprika, perfect for comforting dinners with a touch of heat.

Ingredients

  • 3 lb. chicken breasts
  • 1 onion
  • 2 Tbsp. butter or butter flavored Crisco
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. paprika
  • 1 Tbsp. flour
  • 1 c. sour cream
  • 1 small (4 oz.) can green chilies
  • 1/2 tsp. chili powder
  • chives

Instructions

  1. Heat butter in a skillet over medium heat.
  2. Saute chicken breasts on both sides until browned.
  3. Remove chicken and add diced onion to the skillet; saute until translucent.
  4. Return chicken to the skillet, add flour and paprika, and stir to combine.
  5. Cover and cook over medium heat for 25 minutes, turning chicken occasionally.
  6. Add sour cream and green chilies to the skillet.
  7. Blend the sauce until smooth.
  8. Cook for an additional 4 to 5 minutes.
  9. Remove chicken onto a serving dish and top with chopped chives.
  10. Serve with rice or egg noodles.
