Ingredients
- 1/2 cup cider vinegar ⓘ
- 1 cup water ⓘ
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons spicy brown mustard
- 1/4 teaspoon salt ⓘ
- 1 teaspoon black pepper ⓘ
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika ⓘ
- 1 medium onion, thinly sliced ⓘ
- 2 lemon slices ⓘ
- 1/2 cup butter or margarine ⓘ
- 1 cup ketchup ⓘ
- 1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce ⓘ
- 3 cloves garlic, crushed ⓘ
- 2 teaspoons hot red pepper sauce ⓘ
Instructions
- Combine cider vinegar, water, brown sugar, spicy brown mustard, salt, black pepper, paprika, sliced onion, lemon slices, butter, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, crushed garlic, and hot red pepper sauce in a small saucepan.
- Bring to a boil over moderately high heat.
- Reduce heat to low.
- Simmer, uncovered, stirring occasionally, for 20 minutes.
- Remove from heat and discard lemon slices.
- Stir in remaining ingredients.
- Cool to room temperature before using or storing.
