Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsifted flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/3 cup butter or margarine
  • 1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 cup cereal flakes

Instructions

  1. Mix flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a bowl.
  2. In a separate bowl, cream butter and sugars until smooth.
  3. Add egg and vanilla to the creamed mixture and beat well.
  4. Gradually add the flour mixture to the creamed mixture, mixing until just combined.
  5. Stir in cereal flakes, avoiding over-blending.
  6. Drop teaspoon-sized portions of dough onto an ungreased baking sheet.
  7. Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 10 to 12 minutes until golden.
