- Mix eggs, yeast mixture, and melted shortening with salt into a well-beaten eggs mixture.
- Combine all dry ingredients in a separate bowl.
- Mix until a smooth, elastic dough develops.
- Place the dough in an oiled pan and cover with a cloth.
- Set in a warm place to rise for about 2 hours.
- Cut the risen dough in half and roll out on a floured board to 1-inch thickness.
- Cut the rolled dough into pie shapes.
- Roll up each pie shape from the large end to the point and curve into a crescent shape.
- Cover with a dry cloth and set aside in a warm place until doubled in size.
- Bake at 400°F (200°C) for 5 to 7 minutes until lightly browned.
