Ingredients

  • 1/2 lb. clams
  • 1/4 c. sliced green onions
  • 1 medium potato, cubed
  • 1/4 c. celery, chopped
  • 2 Tbsp. all-purpose flour
  • 1 chicken bouillon cube
  • 1/2 tsp. dried dill weed
  • 2 slices bacon
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1/3 c. water
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 1 1/4 c. milk
  • 1 Tbsp. parsley

Instructions

  1. Fry bacon in a Dutch oven or stockpot until crispy.
  2. Crumble the bacon and set aside.
  3. Cook sliced green onions, chopped celery, and minced garlic in the bacon grease for a few minutes.
  4. Add clams, cubed potato, sliced green onions, chopped celery, dried dill weed, chicken bouillon cube, water, pepper, and crumbled bacon to the pot.
  5. Cook for 20 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender.
  6. Mix flour with a small amount of milk to create a slurry, then gradually add the remaining milk and stir well.
  7. Add the milk mixture to the pot and cook until the chowder thickens slightly.
  8. Serve hot, garnished with chopped parsley.
