- Mix the cornmeal, milk, eggs, cream-style corn, baking soda, salt, and oil in a bowl.
- Pour half of the batter into a greased 9 x 13-inch casserole dish or cast-iron skillet.
- Sprinkle with grated cheddar cheese, then add the cooked and drained deer meat or other ground meat over the cheese.
- Sprinkle the chopped onion and minced jalapeno peppers over the meat.
- Pour the remaining batter over the top.
- Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 50 minutes until golden and cooked through.
