Ingredients

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup oil
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup sour milk
  • 1/2 cup Karo
  • 1 cup raisins
  • 2 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon cloves

Instructions

  1. Mix liquid ingredients (sour milk, Karo, egg, oil, sugar).
  2. Add dry ingredients (flour, soda, ginger, cloves) and raisins to the mixture.
  3. Pour the batter into two greased pans (9 x 13-inch or 8 x 8-inch).
  4. Bake in a moderate oven (350°F) for approximately 25 to 30 minutes.
  5. While still warm, frost with glaze.
