Frosty Hermits
Frosty Hermits are delightful, nutty cookies with raisins and warm spices, perfect for satisfying sweet cravings and enjoyed as a comforting treat with a glass of milk.
Ingredients
- 1 cup Kellogg's All-bran ⓘ
- 1/2 cup milk ⓘ
- 1 cup flour ⓘ
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda ⓘ
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon ⓘ
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg ⓘ
- 1/4 teaspoon ginger ⓘ
- 1 cup brown sugar, firmly packed ⓘ
- 1/2 cup soft butter or margarine ⓘ
- 2 eggs ⓘ
- 1 teaspoon vanilla ⓘ
- 1/2 cup coarsely chopped Planters Dry Roasted Peanuts ⓘ
- 1 cup seedless raisins ⓘ
Instructions
- Measure Kellogg's All-Bran and place into a small bowl. Add milk and let stand until moisture is absorbed.
- Sift together flour, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, and ginger; set aside.
- Beat brown sugar and butter or margarine until light and fluffy.
- Add eggs and vanilla, then beat well.
- Mix in the All-Bran mixture.
- Gradually add the sifted ingredients, stirring until combined.
- Stir in coarsely chopped Planters Dry Roasted Peanuts and raisins.
- Drop by level tablespoonfuls onto a lightly greased baking sheet.
- Bake in a moderate oven at 375°F (190°C) for about 12 minutes or until golden brown.
- Remove from the baking sheet and cool.
- If desired, frost with vanilla icing and sprinkle with chopped peanuts.
