Ingredients

  • 1 lb. chopped dates
  • 1/2 lb. candied cherries
  • 1/2 lb. candied pineapple
  • 2 c. chopped nuts
  • 2 1/2 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 c. butter
  • 1 1/2 c. sugar
  • 2 eggs

Instructions

  1. Combine the chopped dates, candied cherries, candied pineapple, and chopped nuts. Set aside.
  2. In a separate bowl, mix the flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon. Set aside.
  3. Cream the butter and sugar until smooth.
  4. Add eggs and beat well.
  5. Mix part of the dry ingredients into the fruit and nut mixture.
  6. Mix the remaining dry ingredients into the creamed mixture.
  7. Stir in the fruit and nut mixture until evenly combined.
  8. Drop spoonfuls of dough onto a greased cookie sheet.
  9. Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 10 to 15 minutes until golden.
