Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons ginger
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon sage
  • 2 whole chicken breasts
  • 3 tablespoons margarine, divided
  • 3 large potatoes, cubed
  • 1 medium onion, sliced thin
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 package frozen French-style green beans or 1 can green beans, drained

Instructions

  1. Mix flour, ginger, salt, and sage, then coat the chicken breasts with this mixture.
  2. In a skillet, brown the chicken in 2 tablespoons of margarine.
  3. Remove the chicken and transfer it to a 2-quart casserole dish.
  4. Add the remaining margarine to the skillet and brown the cubed potatoes and sliced onion.
  5. Stir in the reserved flour mixture, then add water.
  6. Cook and stir until the mixture thickens.
  7. Stir in the green beans and serve.
