- Core the cabbage deeply and pour 1 cup of water into the core cavity.
- Cover with a plastic bag and microwave on High for 5 minutes.
- Open plastic bag carefully and check the cabbage leaves for softness.
- Remove leaves one at a time.
- If leaves don't remove easily, add more water, cover, and microwave again until soft.
- In a bowl, combine cooked rice, chopped onion, minced garlic, salt, pepper, garlic powder, ground beef, and ground pork.
- Mix well and form into small meatballs or rolls.
- Wrap each meat mixture with a softened cabbage leaf, folding in the sides.
- Place the stuffed cabbage rolls in a large pot and pour two cans of tomato soup over them.
- Add spareribs around the rolls.
- Bring to a simmer, cover, and cook on low heat for about 1 hour, until meat is cooked through and flavors meld.
