Ingredients

  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • 2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 c. whole wheat flour
  • 3 c. all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 4 Tbsp. wheat germ
  • 4 Tbsp. sesame seed
  • 4 Tbsp. poppy seed
  • 1 1/2 c. brown sugar
  • 1 c. chopped nuts
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 c. vegetable oil
  • 2 2/3 c. buttermilk

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, sift together the baking powder, baking soda, whole wheat flour, and all-purpose flour, then stir in the salt, wheat germ, sesame seed, and poppy seed.
  2. Beat the eggs, vegetable oil, and buttermilk together, then pour into the dry ingredients.
  3. Stir until the mixture is blended and just combined.
  4. Fill muffin cups with the batter and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 20 minutes.
