Ingredients

  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1/4 cup oleo
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 1/2 pound Velveeta cheese, cut up
  • dash of Tabasco sauce
  • 2 teaspoons soy sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 4 teaspoons Accent
  • 2 cans (3 oz.) mushroom pieces
  • 1 can sliced water chestnuts
  • 2 or 3 cans French-style green beans

Instructions

  1. Saute chopped onion in oleo until translucent.
  2. Add flour, milk, Velveeta cheese, Tabasco sauce, soy sauce, black pepper, and Accent to the onion.
  3. Cook the mixture until smooth and creamy.
  4. Add mushroom pieces and water chestnuts to the sauce.
  5. Pour the cooked sauce over the drained green beans in a baking dish.
  6. Place some of the water chestnuts on top of the casserole.
  7. Bake in a 350°F oven for 30 to 40 minutes until hot and bubbly.
