Green Bean Baskin
A creamy, cheesy green bean casserole with mushrooms and water chestnuts, perfect for holiday gatherings or family dinners, offering savory flavors and a comforting texture.
Ingredients
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 1/4 cup oleo ⓘ
- 1/4 cup flour ⓘ
- 1 1/2 cups milk ⓘ
- 1/2 pound Velveeta cheese, cut up ⓘ
- dash of Tabasco sauce
- 2 teaspoons soy sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper ⓘ
- 4 teaspoons Accent ⓘ
- 2 cans (3 oz.) mushroom pieces ⓘ
- 1 can sliced water chestnuts ⓘ
- 2 or 3 cans French-style green beans ⓘ
Instructions
- Saute chopped onion in oleo until translucent.
- Add flour, milk, Velveeta cheese, Tabasco sauce, soy sauce, black pepper, and Accent to the onion.
- Cook the mixture until smooth and creamy.
- Add mushroom pieces and water chestnuts to the sauce.
- Pour the cooked sauce over the drained green beans in a baking dish.
- Place some of the water chestnuts on top of the casserole.
- Bake in a 350°F oven for 30 to 40 minutes until hot and bubbly.
