Ingredients

  • 4 or 5 chicken breasts or whole chicken
  • 1 package green noodles or plain noodles
  • 1 green pepper
  • 1 onion
  • 1 stick oleo
  • 1/2 pound cheese
  • 1 small jar mushrooms
  • 1 can mushroom soup
  • 1 package slivered almonds (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cook the chicken and cut it into small pieces.
  2. Saute the onion and green pepper in oleo until tender.
  3. Add cheese, mushrooms, and mushroom soup; cook until blended.
  4. Cook the noodles in chicken broth until tender.
  5. Combine the cooked noodles with the cheese mixture and chicken.
  6. Pour the mixture into a large casserole and bake at 300°F until bubbly.
  7. Add more broth if the mixture seems dry during baking.
  8. The cheese and chicken mixture can be frozen for later use.
