Ingredients

  • 3 cups water
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup uncooked macaroni
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 medium bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 cups sliced okra
  • 1 (28 oz.) can tomatoes (undrained)
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Combine water and 1 teaspoon salt; bring to a boil and add macaroni.
  2. Cook, uncovered, 6 to 8 minutes.
  3. Do not drain.
  4. Brown ground beef with onion and bell pepper.
  5. Add cooked macaroni and beef mixture to the pot.
  6. Add remaining ingredients; cover, bring to a boil and simmer for 15 minutes or until vegetables are done.
  7. Do not overcook.
