Ingredients

  • 4 haddock fillets
  • 12 cooked shrimp, cut up
  • seasoned flour
  • 4 Tbsp. butter
  • 3 Tbsp. flour
  • 1 1/4 c. milk
  • 2 oz. Cheddar cheese
  • 1 small onion, sautéed
  • 1/2 c. celery, sautéed
  • 6 Tbsp. heavy cream

Instructions

  1. Wash and dry the haddock fillets.
  2. Coat the fillets with seasoned flour.
  3. Use half of the butter to grease a shallow dish and arrange the fillets in it.
  4. Melt the remaining butter in a saucepan.
  5. Stir in flour to make a paste.
  6. Gradually add milk to the paste, stirring constantly to make a white sauce.
  7. Add cheese to the sauce and blend until melted and smooth.
  8. Add sautéed onion, sautéed celery, and cut-up shrimp to the sauce and mix well.
  9. Pour the sauce over the fish fillets.
  10. Bake at 400°F for 20 minutes until golden and bubbly.
