Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground turkey
  • dash garlic powder
  • 1 Tbsp oregano
  • 1 Tbsp basil
  • 1 (32 oz) jar Healthy Choice Italian sauce
  • 6 lasagne noodles
  • 1 (16 oz) container low-fat cottage cheese
  • 2 egg whites
  • dash pepper
  • 1 Tbsp parsley flakes
  • 1 (8 oz) container low moisture part-skim mozzarella cheese, grated

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, cook the ground turkey until browned.
  2. Add garlic powder, oregano, and basil to the turkey and cook for another minute.
  3. Stir in the Italian sauce and simmer for a few minutes.
  4. In a bowl, mix the low-fat cottage cheese, egg whites, pepper, and parsley flakes.
  5. Spray a 13 x 9-inch dish with cooking spray.
  6. Layer 3 uncooked lasagne noodles at the bottom of the dish.
  7. Spread half of the meat sauce over the noodles.
  8. Spread half of the cottage cheese mixture over the meat sauce.
  9. Sprinkle with half of the grated low-moisture mozzarella cheese.
  10. Repeat the layers: noodles, meat sauce, cottage cheese mixture, and mozzarella.
  11. Cover with foil and bake at 375°F (190°C) for 35 to 40 minutes.
  12. Add 1/4 to 1/2 cup of water during baking if the lasagne appears too dry.
  13. Remove from oven and let stand for 10 to 15 minutes before serving.
