Ingredients

  • 4 stalks chopped celery
  • 4 Tbsp. barley
  • 4 Tbsp. lentils
  • 4 Tbsp. split peas
  • 1 Tbsp. oleo
  • 2 medium chopped onions
  • 8 oz. can tomato sauce
  • 6 beef bouillon cubes
  • 6 medium carrots

Instructions

  1. Add water, chopped celery, chopped onions, chopped carrots, barley, lentils, split peas, tomato sauce, bouillon cubes, and oleo in a 3 or 4-quart pot.
  2. Bring to a boil, then let simmer, stirring occasionally, for about 2 1/2 hours until vegetables are tender.
  3. Simmer very slowly.
  4. Optional: Can also add cooked hamburger, beef, or any leftover vegetables.
