Highland Dinner
Ingredients
- 1/2 lb. link sausages ⓘ
- 2 lb. ground beef or lamb ⓘ
- 6 Tbsp. flour ⓘ
- 2 tsp. salt ⓘ
- 1/4 tsp. pepper ⓘ
- 1 medium onion, chopped ⓘ
- 1 beef bouillon cube ⓘ
- 1/4 c. bottled chili sauce ⓘ
- 1/4 tsp. marjoram, crumbled ⓘ
- 1/4 tsp. rosemary, crumbled ⓘ
- 3 c. water ⓘ
- 8 medium carrots, cut up ⓘ
- 1 (9 oz.) pkg. frozen cut green beans ⓘ
- 4 to 5 medium potatoes
- 1 1/2 c. biscuit mix ⓘ
- 1/2 c. Cheddar cheese, grated ⓘ
Instructions
- Slice sausages 1/2-inch thick.
- Brown slowly in large frypan. Remove with slotted spoon and set aside.
- Shape ground meat into 1-inch balls, then roll in a mixture of flour, salt and pepper to coat well.
- Brown in drippings of same frypan.
- Remove and add to sausage.
- Stir onion into pan and saute.
- Stir in browned meat, bouillon cube, chili sauce, marjoram, rosemary and water, stirring constantly.
- Heat to boiling.
