Ingredients
- 1 lb. ground beef ⓘ
- 1/2 lb. pork sausage (hot) ⓘ
- 1 medium onion, chopped ⓘ
- 1 clove garlic, slivered ⓘ
- 10 oz. can tomato paste ⓘ
- 13 oz. can tomatoes and chilies ⓘ
- 16 oz. can crushed tomatoes ⓘ
- 16 oz. can pinto beans ⓘ
- 2 cans (16 oz. each) kidney beans ⓘ
- 2 cans (16 oz. each) water ⓘ
- 1 Tbsp. chili powder ⓘ
- 2 tsp. salt ⓘ
- 2 Tbsp. sugar ⓘ
- 2 Tbsp. white vinegar ⓘ
Instructions
- Brown ground beef, pork sausage, chopped onion, and slivered garlic until meat is crumbly. Drain off grease.
- Place the cooked mixture in an 8-quart pot.
- Add tomato paste, tomatoes and chilies, crushed tomatoes, pinto beans, kidney beans, water, chili powder, salt, sugar, and vinegar.
- Bring to a boil, stirring often.
- Reduce heat and simmer for 3 hours, adding more water as needed to maintain moisture.
- Serve topped with grated Cheddar cheese and a dollop of sour cream.
