Ingredients
- 1 1/2 lb. bulk Italian sausage ⓘ
- 1 1/2 lb. ground beef ⓘ
- 1 c. chopped onion
- 1 c. chopped green pepper ⓘ
- 2 cans (15 oz.) tomato sauce ⓘ
- 2 cans (6 oz.) tomato paste ⓘ
- 1/2 c. water ⓘ
- 1 tsp. dried basil ⓘ
- 1 tsp. dried oregano ⓘ
- 1 tsp. salt ⓘ
- 1 tsp. pepper ⓘ
- 1/8 tsp. garlic powder ⓘ
- 2 cans (8 3/4 oz.) whole kernel corn, drained ⓘ
- 2 cans (2 1/4 oz.) sliced ripe olives, drained ⓘ
- 1 (16 oz.) pkg. wide noodles, cooked and drained ⓘ
- 8 oz. Cheddar cheese, cut into strips ⓘ
Instructions
- In a Dutch oven over medium heat, cook sausage, beef, onion, and green pepper until meat is browned and vegetables are tender; drain.
- Add tomato sauce, tomato paste, water, and seasonings; bring to a boil.
- Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 15 minutes.
- Add corn and olives; cover and simmer for 5 minutes.
- Stir in cooked and drained noodles.
- Pour mixture into two greased 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking dishes.
- Top with cheese strips.
- Cover and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 25 to 30 minutes or until heated through.
