Ingredients
- 4 eggs ⓘ
- 2 cups sugar ⓘ
- 1 cup buttermilk ⓘ
- 3 cups flour, sifted ⓘ
- 1 cup blackberry jam ⓘ
- 1 cup crushed pineapple with juice ⓘ
- 1 cup strawberry preserves
- 1 cup nuts (optional) ⓘ
- 2 teaspoons cinnamon ⓘ
- 2 teaspoons allspice ⓘ
- 1 teaspoon nutmeg ⓘ
- 1 teaspoon ginger ⓘ
- 1 teaspoon baking soda ⓘ
- 2 sticks margarine or butter
Instructions
- Sift spices with flour; cream butter and sugar.
- Add eggs, beating well.
- Add pineapple with juice; continue beating.
- Mix soda with buttermilk; add alternately with flour and the first mixture.
- Add jam and preserves.
- Pour into prepared cake pans and bake at 350°F for 30 to 35 minutes or until done.
