Ingredients

  • 1/2 gallon water
  • 1 cup chopped onion
  • 1/4 cup chicken base
  • 6 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3 potatoes, diced
  • celery leaves
  • 1 gallon plus 1 cup milk
  • 1/4 pound butter
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 5 cups flour

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, add half a gallon of water, bay leaves, celery leaves, and diced potatoes.
  2. Bring to a boil and cook for about 15 minutes until potatoes are tender.
  3. Add one gallon plus one cup of milk, butter, chopped onion, chicken base, salt, and pepper to taste.
  4. Cook until the onions are tender and flavors meld.
