Leslie's Spaghetti Pie combines tender pasta, savory meat, and creamy cheeses, baked to perfection. A hearty, cheesy dish perfect for family dinners or entertaining friends.

Ingredients

  • 8 oz. spaghetti
  • 2 Tbsp. soft butter
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 1 egg
  • 1 1/2 lb. ground chuck
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1 chopped green pepper
  • 1 tsp. sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. oregano
  • 1 lb. Ricotta cheese
  • 12 oz. shredded Mozzarella cheese

Instructions

  1. Cook the pasta according to package directions and drain.
  2. In a large bowl, mix butter, Parmesan, salt, pepper, and beaten egg.
  3. Add the cooked spaghetti and toss to coat well.
  4. Spread the spaghetti mixture evenly in a 13 x 9-inch pan.
  5. In a large saucepan, brown the ground chuck over medium heat.
  6. Add chopped onion, green pepper, and minced garlic as the meat starts to cook.
  7. Drain off excess fat once the meat is browned.
  8. Stir in spaghetti sauce, sugar, and oregano.
  9. Spread Ricotta cheese over the spaghetti layer.
  10. Top with the meat mixture.
  11. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 30 minutes.
  12. Sprinkle shredded Mozzarella cheese on top and bake for another 10 minutes.
  13. Let stand 15 minutes before serving.
