Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups sliced fresh mushrooms
  • 1/4 cup chopped green pepper
  • 1/4 cup chopped sweet red pepper
  • 1/4 cup white onion
  • 1/4 cup red onion
  • 1 tablespoon canola oil
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/4 lb lean ground beef
  • 4 ounces italian link sausage, casing removed
  • 2 teaspoons cornmeal
  • frozen bread dough, thawed
  • 1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce
  • 2 tablespoons minced fresh parsley
  • 2 teaspoons italian seasoning
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper
  • 15 turkey pepperoni, slices
  • 2 tablespoons sliced ripe olives
  • 1 1/4 cups shredded part-skim mozzarella cheese

Instructions

  1. In a non-stick skillet, saute mushrooms, peppers, and onions in oil until almost tender.
  2. Add garlic, saute 1 minute longer, remove and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, cook beef, and sausage over medium heat until no longer pinkfor 8-10 minutes or until crust is golden, drain.
  4. Coat a 14 inch pizza pan with cooking spray, and sprinkle with cornmeal.
  5. On a lightly dloured surface, roll dough into a 15-inch circle, and transfer to a prepared pan.
  6. Build up edges slightly, and prick dough thoroughly with a fork.
  7. Bake at 400 degrees for 8-10 minutes, or until lightly browned.
  8. In a large bowl, combine the tomato sauce, parsley, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, and pepper, spread over crust.
  9. Top with vegetables, meat mixture, pepperoni, and olives.
  10. Sprinkle with cheeses.
  11. Bake for 8-10 minutes or until crust is golden brown, and cheese is melted.
