M & M'S Fudge-Filled Bars
Decadent fudge-filled bars combining chewy oats, crunchy nuts, and sweet candies, all coated in rich chocolate. Perfect for parties, potlucks, or satisfying a sweet tooth craving.

Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Grease a jelly roll pan measuring 15 1/2 x 10 1/2 x 1 inch.
- Mix oats, flour, nuts, brown sugar, baking soda, and salt in a large bowl.
- Stir in margarine until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Reserve 1 1/2 cups of the crumbly mixture.
- Press the remaining crumbly mixture into the prepared pan.
- Bake for 10 minutes.
- In a 1-quart saucepan, melt shortening over low heat.
- Stir in 1 cup of candies; press candies with the back of a spoon until they break into pieces.
- Cook and stir until the candy coating melts; remove from heat and stir in condensed milk.
- Spread the chocolate mixture over the baked layer, leaving 1/2 inch border around the edges.
- Mix the reserved crumbly mixture and remaining candies.
- Sprinkle evenly over the chocolate layer and press lightly.
- Bake until golden brown, about 20 minutes, then cool.
- Cut into bars approximately 2 1/4 x 1 1/2 inches.
