Ingredients

  • 6 slices bacon
  • 5 frankfurters
  • 3/4 cup sliced celery
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 2 tablespoons bacon fat
  • 1 tablespoon flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 can cream of celery soup
  • 1 cup canned milk
  • 3 cups hot cooked macaroni
  • 1/2 cup grated Cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. Fry bacon until crisp; reserve 2 tablespoons of bacon fat and crumble bacon.
  2. Slice 3 frankfurters.
  3. Saute sliced frankfurters, celery, and onion in the bacon fat.
  4. Stir in flour, pepper, and salt.
  5. Add cream of celery soup and canned milk; cook for 10 minutes until slightly thickened, stirring constantly.
  6. Combine cooked macaroni with the sauce, place in a baking dish, sprinkle with grated Cheddar cheese, and bake until cheese is melted and bubbly.
