Ingredients

  • 1 lb. sirloin tip or tender round steak
  • meat tenderizer
  • 2 Tbsp. cooking oil
  • 1/3 c. water
  • 1/4 c. soy sauce
  • 2 tsp. sugar
  • 4 c. celery, sliced thin
  • 1 c. green onions, chopped
  • 8 1/2 oz. can water chestnuts, drained and sliced
  • 4 oz. can mushrooms
  • 16 oz. can bean sprouts, drained

Instructions

  1. Sprinkle the steak with meat tenderizer according to package directions.
  2. Thinly slice the steak.
  3. Heat oil in a fry pan; add the steak and cook, stirring until the meat has lost its red color.
  4. Add water, soy sauce, and sugar to the pan.
  5. Add sliced celery, chopped green onions or large onion, drained water chestnuts, mushrooms, and drained bean sprouts.
  6. Stir fry until the vegetables are crisp tender.
  7. Optional: Cover the skillet to cook at low heat if needed.
  8. Serve the meat and vegetables in a bowl with rice, accompanied by soy sauce.
