Ingredients

  • 2 Tbsp. oil
  • 1/4 cup dry red wine
  • 2 Tbsp. tomato paste
  • 3/4 tsp. oregano
  • 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 Tbsp. minced fresh parsley
  • 1 1/2 lb. hamburger
  • 1 onion
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 1/3 cup Parmesan cheese
  • 2 (8 oz.) tubes crescent rolls

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a pan.
  2. Lightly brown the hamburger, breaking it up with a fork as it cooks.
  3. Transfer the cooked meat to a bowl using a slotted spoon.
  4. Save 2 tablespoons of fat in the pan to cook the onion and garlic until soft.
  5. Add the onion, garlic, tomato paste, oregano, cinnamon, salt, and pepper to the pan. Cook for 3 minutes, stirring to blend.
  6. Stir the mixture into the cooked meat in the bowl and let it cool for 10 minutes.
  7. Beat in the beaten egg, Parmesan cheese, and minced parsley.
  8. Unroll the crescent roll dough and cut into triangles.
  9. Place a spoonful of the meat mixture onto each triangle and fold to form pockets.
  10. Bake according to crescent roll package instructions until golden brown.
