Ingredients

  • 1 lb lean hamburger
  • 1/2 lb Italian sausage
  • 2 eggs
  • bread crumbs to taste
  • 1 stewed tomato
  • black pepper to taste
  • 1 chili pepper chopped
  • 1 medium onion chopped
  • 1 tsp oregano
  • 1 clove garlic chopped
  • 1 clove garlic chopped
  • 1 Tbsp chunky salsa
  • small can tomato paste

Instructions

  1. Combine the lean hamburger, Italian sausage, eggs, and black pepper in a mixing bowl.
  2. In a separate dish, mix together the chunky salsa, tomato paste, stewed tomatoes, oregano, chopped garlic, chopped chili pepper, chopped onion, and chopped bell pepper.
  3. Add the tomato mixture and bread crumbs to the meat mixture and mix until well combined.
  4. Shape the mixture into small balls and roll them in leftover bread crumbs.
  5. Cook the meatballs in a covered frypan, turning once, until browned and cooked through, about 10 minutes.
  6. Add spaghetti sauce to the pan and simmer for 15 minutes before serving.
